i have a big problem

can someone please help me with my problem?
i just need to know this:
if my site shows up in the search engines results without the www will this effect my PR and backlinks?
when i type my sites keywords its shows up in the results like this:
mysite.com and not like this http://www.mysite.com
is that ok? i am afraid that when i will make some backlinks this will not give me good results, can someone help me with this issue?
and also can someone recommend me a good backlink checker?
