How to save settings

    I’m new to wordpress development and i’m getting a lot of doubts every day. Okay I’m using the SMOF in my theme and i’m trying to put the colour options and my doubt is, we define colours in CSS and when we change the options how do we change css? All that came to my head is writing LESS instead of CSS and change the LESS variables every time user changes the colour options. Can someone help this noob?
