    Hi there
I am setting up a new website and am going a bit doolally over a problem which is probably simple to fix. I have used the pink touch 2 theme and have posted a page that will be the front page.
At the bottom of the post appears two links that I do not want appearing – permalink and leave a comment. I do not want comments at all so want to remove this BUT cannot find out where to do it. I have searched and searched and am now bothering this forum for an answer.
Please tell me how I can get rid of the comments link and confirm that this will stop comments.
    kind regards
    Colin

The first thing to try is on the edit page for the page in question. Below the editor there may be a checkbox for comments. If there is, deselect it, problem solved. If there isn’t, click screen options at the top of the page, and see if there is an unchecked box pertaining to comments. If there is, activate it, then deselect it.

    Hi
Thanks for your reply. I have found these in the past on another theme but no comments box appears in the page. seems a bit odd to select then deselect but will bear that in mind later. I have managed to remove the comments link by loading a plugin to deselect comments and it has now disappeared. Hammer to crack a nut but obviously needed.

I might not have been clear before. I meant enable the option to toggle comments, then deselect. But never mind, you seem to have fixed your issue. Did you also look through your theme’s options for options regarding comments?

I am looking at the same issue…there used to be a checkbox at the bottom of each post and page in edit mode, where one could select to disable comments. It is not there anymore, and I cannot find an integral solution to this.
There are plugins that do that, but I’d rather use the original method.
Does anyone know what happened there? Why did it disappear?

There I was thinking it was me when other people seem to be having the same problem. I agree it used to be on the bottom of each page. Maybe the latest update killed it off. Glad I found the plugin before all the trolls bombarded me with spam

    It is not there anymore

Yes, it is. If you do not see this pane, click Screen Options at the very top of the page and check “Discussion”.
