You could start by reviewing Theme Development.
thanks i will do that because i’ve been studing html codes etc but im sure it’s way different when it comes to creating themes.
oh also do u know how to understand all the letters on the computer keyboard for the html codes so it can be easier to understand?
It’s really just a mix of PHP (including a lot of WordPress specific functions), HTML & CSS. For example, http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags is a good Codex page to bookmark for long term reference.
http://codex.wordpress.org/Theme_Review has a lot of detail on what must (and what should not) be in a theme that is submitted to wordpress.org for inclusion into the Theme Repository. If you can eventually code to those standards, you’ll have completely cracked theme development. 🙂
cool. is there anymore ways to understand the codes etc?
I thought you said that you were a web designer….
i am i been doing this for about 6 months now i just thought there would be a easier way to understand the codes etc i can still understand them it’ll just take a little more time.
thanks again tho i’ll read up on the theme development so i can better understand it. we should keep in contact on here
