How to change image format?

    I want to include in a post an image that is quite a bit wider than it is high.

    But when I upload the image, the software just cuts off the sides of the picture to make it roughly square.

    Can this be altered? It will be very useful to know how, as I can see myself wanting to use pix of all sorts of different shapes in future…

    Usually the upload panel cuts images just to make easier to see prewiev. When you insert it into the post and then you go to see the page in your blog pictures should appear as you wish.
