How Do You Categorize Posts?

    I just set up WordPress and I set up some categories. Then I posted something, but I can’t figure out how to categorize that post. It just goes into the default “uncategorized” category.

    How do you categorize posts?

    Which version of WP?
    If you created additional categories they should be visible in the Write > Write Post panel on the right side.
    In WP 2.x you have to clcik on the + next to catgeories to see the list, then check the box(es).

    When you’re on the Write Post screen, to the right you should see some (assuming version 2.0 or better) blue bars with + or – on their right edges. One of those bars will be the category list. If it’s collapsed you’ll see the +. Click it and a list of your cats should show. Select that before you save/publish – also works when editing.
