[resolved] How do new users register ? Lost! (9 posts)

Ive gone through the documentation and the most fundamental basic thing I cannot find any reference to. Yes all about permissions and adding events yourself as admin, but how does a new user who wants to post events register on the site.

If a user goes to my submit page it says
You must log in to view and manage your events.

So if that user goes to the login page they go to
    http://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/wp-login.php
But nowhere I can see for them to sign up

Is there a secret I'm obviously missing?

Events Manager uses wp users so you can either allow wp registration or they can also be created when a user signs-up for an event or you can allow anonymous event submissions at settings > general > event submission forms > Anonymous event submissions

So you have To turn the 'Anyone can register on' in the word press settings, then this becomes available.

    Sorry but still confused here.
I have WP setting : Anyone Can Register : No
EM setting : Allow Anonymous : No
EM setting : Guest Default User = Subscriber (created)

Form For Entry has [event_form]in code

When going to the entry form it just says' You must logon'
but there is no place to logon ????

PS, I want users to register when they submit an event,so they can edit their submitted events at a later date.

I have changed this and now back to square one. Anyone can create an event by entering their name and email address - no registration required, so won't be able to edit it in the future.

This is what I do not want.

If I change the settings, no registration screen is apparent - It just says "You must log in to view and manage your events" with no screen to register! As of my original post.

    sorry about that,

How do new users register ? Lost!

    - My first post

When going to the entry form it just says' You must logon'
but there is no place to logon ????

you can try this tutorial on how you can add wp login shortcode - http://pippinsplugins.com/wordpress-login-form-short-code/ (add in your theme functions.php)

    e.g.
    [event_form]
    [loginform redirect="http://my-redirect-url.com/submit-event"]

I still was unable to make that work, anyway thanks.

    Workaround Solution
Added a plugin for logon that appears on the menu bar so it's obvious where they have to go.
