i taught myself html almost 20 years ago; and i still contruct every html file with vim and with a “atom” [ascii-to-markup], a tool that does only two things: it recursively handles double quotes, and two, it turn *hi* into <I>hi</I>. nothing fancy, but then i have no need of scripts popping up dancing-bears or whatever.

but when it come tto instering my essays [or whatever] into WP, I am a complete newbie. so far, i create my html files and then cut and paste into the WP window. it turns out that i always have to reformat my markup in the WP window. i dont understasnd why i can’t insert an existing html file. but i cannot figure out how to do this.

i’m hoping that the wordpress wizards out there can clue me in.
