You might be able to get away with just restoring the 2.9.2 files that can be found at http://wordpress.org/download/release-archive/ Delete the 3.0 files first (like following Steps 7 and 8 in Upgrading WordPress Extended.
If that doesn’t work restore your backups or ask your host if they have a backup they can restore.

“Database Upgrade Required

Upgrade WordPress Database”
