• Hi, this is a very basic question but I cannot figure this out. Like every website there are options for you to click on in their website that bring you to an aritcle, a quiz, a product, etc. I’m wondering how someone can add that to their site. Take mine for example, I have a quiz website. I want to take quizzes I’ve written and put a link to them with a photo that will lead them to the website. Now, I’m not neccisarrily tlaking about a hyperlink on a photo, I’m talking more of an outline of an article with a photo. Does this make sense? In simpler terms take a news website for instance, how do they create an icon/photo on the side of their page that is an article available to be read. I’m sorry if this is confusing I have no other way of figuring out how to express what I’m trying to do.

    My website is:

    Thank you.

  • The answer depends a lot on context. Do you want the link inside your content on a single post? Do you want the link in a sidebar? Do you want the link to be on every page of your site? Is it in the header or footer?
And, as you say, links can be text links or image links, or a text link with an accompanying image etc, etc.

To put a link into a post, use the tools the editor provides. That includes manual text links(the editor has a search for getting the link to another post), manual image links, widgets, shortcodes, third party blocks.

If you want it in a sidebar, find a plugin that provides a widget that you like, to list related posts, or featured posts, or latest posts, or whatever. It’s dynamic. Speaking of that, you can use a plugin like Dynamic widgets to show different widgets on different pages of your site.
