• HI,

I am trying to colour code my categories, I want the menu items, post titles within that category and new posts to automatically be assigned a colour dependant on what category they are placed in.

I also want to add elements (like the category title and social share buttons) to the post inserts on the homepage or category page, basically I am trying to replicate something like listverse.com on my site 10things.co.uk.

If you look at listverse.com, i want to replicate that in my own fashion, the way the post displays the social elements and the title with colour attribute as well as the way that follows through into the post it self.

Any help would be massively appreciated and my coding skills are not great but I do know my way around enough to edit and add elements if i have the required code to hand.

I am using the Journal Crunch theme

  • I think you can do this by adding some kind of taxonomy to choose colors from. Or, custom field in the category section.

Or use jQuery to generate some maths on Category ID and apply colors accordingly.

@ Tirumal, thanks for the reply and although I do know what your talking about (atleast with the custom fields) I would have no clue how to implement it, could you point me in the direction of a guide or give me an example command that I can edit colours etc?
