If the homepage is a normal page, you can change the meta description on the page itself.
If the homepage is a blog archive, you can change it via SEO->Titles & Metas.
Makes sense, doesn’t it ?

Thanks, you are right. Under the Home tab, they had the word “template” which through me off because there is only 1 page so no need for a template like there is for posts. Anyway, I plugged in a description there and its up and running. So simple and silly that I did not at least try it before. Thanks again.
