It will only show the last 4. It’s a very simple element for more options I would suggest looking for a plugin.

I downloaded 2 plugins I really like…and I place the shortcode in the homepage but then it messes up the alignment…
I want to have it placed below the menu with “home, about us, contact us” but above the ad that is there currently…essentially I want it placed the same way the slider is placed now…
is there a way I can do this?

Which plugin are you using? If you’re just pasting the shortcode into the visual editor on the homepage can you not paste it above the ad? Then you would just remove the current slider.

There are 2 plugins I really like.
One is ‘advanced post slider’ and the other is ‘master slider’
with advanced post slider posting it above the ad works…but the width is messed up…ideally I want it to run across the whole width of the page…
master slider even when I post it above the ad it still shows up below the ad and it covers up content in the sidebar…don’t know how to fix that.

and oddly enough, when I do activate the ‘advance post slider’ in the blog posts below it shows ‘continued’ and ‘read more’….weird
Back to your question above about placing the slider where the theme slider goes. There isn’t a way to do this in the free theme. Not a way in the settings. (of course premium theme has options for this and more) But with free you would have to code this into the font-page.php file and add it manually.
