As for you 1 year data, you can. But you need separate file.
i.e 2015.csv, 2016.csv, 2017.csv etc
Not multiple years in the same csv.

Are you sure you uploaded file contains all correct date and month for 2016?

Could it be something to do with the update of the plugin? That changed the way things should work?

The plugin works fine when I use your times on our website. A couple of things you could do. Instead of using the upload link in the plugin, try uploading it directly into the sql table and select the option to replace data. This does 2 things:
1. It will load the file without any glitch
2. There is no limit as to how many years of data you can load.
The other option is to deactivate the plugin, deactivate it and then load the csv via the plugin. Hope this works out for you.
I’m using the latest version of the plugin at http://tawheedcenter.org and you can try it out.
