We don’t show the author of events on the archive page, can you please share a live URL from your issue?
Also, you can use the inspect element to hide any elements on your site:

Here’s an example for the Coppélia tag archive page. I would like to hide the author only on the event posts, not blog posts.

Oh, It’s not MEC, but this is Deep free 😉
Please use CSS below:
body.archive.tag .blgtyp4-author {display: none;}
If you want to remove it everywhere on the theme, just use the CSS below:
#wrap .blgtyp4-author {display: none;}
