help! WordPress database error!!

I just imported many posts from my old typepad blog into my wordpress blog, and it all works great, except…..

when i click on any of the “categories”, it brings all the posts up, but at the very top of the page says:

WordPress database error: [You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ‘WHERE slug = ‘sports” at line 1]
SELECT term_id FROM WHERE slug = ‘sports’

how do i get rid of this?
