Help section needs huge improvement!

I like this plugin a lot!
However, the help section seems to be understandable only by seasoned developers.
I would like a lot to customize the output of my top-cases list, such as adding the number of votes a given post had, its average, etc.
However, on the help section, the code listed there is not usable right away. It would be nice if more examples of actual usable code were given, so we could start from there. The only “right away” usable code is the one to place the voting stars on a template. Other than that, the other code presented does not show exactly how to implement the functions into the code.
