i believe that the backup that i have restored is a replacement of the server image (from my home at least so in theory should all be there?)

/homedir down to /etc should be indented

essentially i clean the directory out and replaced it with the backup image…

Think i’ve probably blown it unless better ideas around
Gotta go to bed as 3am here now.
can probably recover much of it as have some content out on article sites, have googles cache for a day or 2 and have content from xml export from original wp.com. which closed down will just lose some news items and a couple of good articles.
will lose a bit but not terminal.
got to rebuild the buggar though! and will probably confuse the hell out of google (as if it wasn’t confused enough already by the redirect!)
