help in creating site, using wordpress blogging software

my host provider is dreamhost which supports wordpress.So all i need to do is procedure to create a site where i want to place all my paintings.Do i need to install it bcoz dreamhost guys says they sopport wordpress.So what i need to do.I am wondering like anything for getting help in this.so please kind enough to explain me in detail.
