HELP!! Everything is gone….

    I am a very new admin for my husband’s company’s website. There are only 3 people who have admin access; myself, my husband (who doesn’t even know his password) and the person who originally set up the website, who is a family friend. I went onto the site today and the entire site was the Twenty Ten theme. Prior to this the website was all custom coded. Does anyone know what happened? I tried recovering an earlier page and it was still Twenty Ten. Tons of hours went into creating the background, tabs, links, etc. Please help! And please, pretend that you are talking to a baby, because I am just starting to get the whole WordPress thing.

    Go to Appearance > Themes and make sure that your old theme is still there. If it is, choose “Activate.” It sounds like somehow your site’s theme was deactivated.

    I checked, my theme is not there. How can the whole thing just disappear?

    Well, that’s bad. Did you upgrade recently? Does the person who originally set up your site have a backup of the theme? Without your theme files, you won’t have any way to put it back the way it was.

    How is the site hosted? I’m guessing it’s a hosting company (as opposed to, for example, your friend)? They might be able to help or have a backup of your site that you could get the theme from…
