Help creating a post excerpt

    I am trying to create excerpts for my website and no one has been able to help. I will explain an exact example of what I am trying to do. I do not use code so please speak in lamens terms.

    my site is livenyca.com
    I want to create a teaser on the home page for the post, Amangiri-Deert Oasis right after the first paragraph. For some reason the paragraph is showing up twice. I would like the post to end after the word “pavilion” so that all of the pictures do not show up on the home page. Is this possible? I do not want all of my post to be excerpts though. Can you customize posts?

    Use the <!--more--> tag in your Posts. See customising the read more

    I do not use the code section where I add tags. Is there an easier way to do this? thanks

    Seems to be working. I figured it out. Thanks a lot. Do you know why the post content would be showing up twice on the home page? I can’t find a way to fix that. I have unchecked the single post option, deactivated plugins, etc. Thanks again
