I just viewed the image … it’s HUGE 🙂
Did you want it ALL there ?
I find that the default h1 header set up can be confusing, which is why I have added a #masthead to my templates, which I think I am right in saying this is an implementation of. The problem is that if the size of h1 is altered it disturbs the background. So: I always put my images as background. top left repeat-no.
Plus I stick to one at a time. For a flexible scheme yoy need a big graphic and set overflow to zero. (CSS 2 though)
Oh. I see what podz says. That is too big for either a header or a content bg IMHO.
From your css:
#rap {
width: 797px;
Create the header and make it 797 pixels wide. A decent height to start with is about 140-160 pixels.

From #3 on should help.
take a look at what i have now…. i think that is the best i can do with the way that template is setup…
i don’t think i can stretch the header image the full width of the page like i wanted too…
yes i know the image i’m using in the header is way to huge…. it’s just something i threw in there for testing… lol
and i started originally with the trident theme… customized from there….
