Having problems with permalink

    Hi,

    I tried to change the permalink of the page in my site and found that i’ve been having several problems with the permalink of my site.

    1. The permalink of the page isn’t shown in Google. Only the homepage of the site was shown but not the specific page when I put the permalink in Google.

    2. I tried to use the permalink with a couple of different internet browsers. Safari didn’t even show the homepage of my site. DuckDukGo showed the OLD permalink of the page, but not the permalink that i edited.

    3. I edited the permalink through “Edit Page” and updated.

    4. Deactivated all the plugins but no difference.

    5. Checked the search engine visibility and discourage search engines from indexing this site wasn’t ticked.

    Is there anything that I’m missing to fix these problems? This is my first website. Any help will be appreciated.

    permalink of the page isn’t shown in Google. … DuckDukGo showed the OLD permalink of the page, but not the permalink that i edited.

    Please note we don not control what Google or DuckDukGo show and what they do not show. You need to ask them on their support.

    However, we have some info about permalinks in this article https://wordpress.org/support/article/using-permalinks/

    Also, try looking into SEO plugins like Yoast SEO

    Hi t-p,

    Thank you for replying to my questions.
    Sure I understood that it’s really up to each browser to show or not to show. I thought it was something wrong with my end.

    I checked that article before posting this question here, but i could not find out which one was applicable to my situation. I’m using Yoast SEO and also having problem with it like the change in meta description wasn’t appeared.

    At this moment, any changes in permalink and Yoast SEO are not shown in my site.

    I felt like I was missing something basic part of steps when I’m making those changes…

    I recommend asking at https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/wordpress-seo/ so the plugin’s developers and support community can help you with this.
