Hack that blocks FTP access?

Also, each time I try to log in to my ftp account, my client seems to resolve the domain to a different, bogus IP address, and then my connection times out.

Have you spoken with your host provider? A WordPress compromise on your installation shouldn’t cause that. Where are you seeing that error?
