grid not working, javascript error
-
Hi, I just updated a client’s plugin to 2.0.1 but I got an error message that I didn’t screenshot about a missing php file. The plugin was then automatically deactivated. I then reactivated it but now client’s galleries are not working. The grid isn’t working and when you click on a photo a lightbox doesn’t open. I have the latest version of wordpress and latest version of the plugin.

I checked your site and there is a javascript error which I believe is unrelated to the plugin. Try disabling all other plugins and see if the problem still exists. Here’s some more info about the error on your website:
I’m having a similar problem on http://www.spendlifetraveling.com
Updated to 2.0.1 and now both slider and post main pictures are not showing anymore
Any idea what’s wrong here?
There seems to be an awful lot of errors on your website. I bet you will still have these if you disable the Responsive Gallery Grid plugin.
For one: your theme is using a thumbs.php script that fails to generate thumbnails, according to this error: NetworkError: 404 Not Found – http://www.spendlifetraveling.com/wp-content/themes/travelcost.v1/lib/classes/thumb.php?src=http://www.spendlifetraveling.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/san_diego_best_coffee_shops_work_remotely_map-1.jpg&w=620&h=240&zc=1&q=100
This has nothing to do with my plugin. I bet some things went wrong while updating WordPress, maybe check your uploads folder file permissions, and put them temporarily on 777 to see if that fixes the error. Otherwise, I hope you have a backup of your website and database. If so, please restore it and check if you have any errors. If you don’t, before doing anything else, install the update of RGG and check if the errors reappear. If they don’t I’m afraid I can’t help you with this as this means that the problems are not related to the plugin.
Furthermore, the gallery seems to be working fine on this page: http://www.spendlifetraveling.com/about/
Having the same problem here http://livesharetravel.com my plugin deactivated and now I’ve reactivated it either something’s broken or my settings are all wrong. Please advise on the best way forward – I’m used to them appearing as in your live demo.
Could you please point me to an actual page where you are using the plugin?
Thanks Sarah,
I’m afraid I still don’t see the problem. The galleries look nice and work fine here on Chrome and Firefox. As far as I can tell there is no difference with the demo page on my site, except that you are using a different light box.
Also, there don’t seem to be any javascript errors on your site.
Could you maybe share a screenshot to explain exactly what you would like to change?
Hi Jules
Maybe it’s just a case of updating the default settings on it (I don’t know as I didn’t set this up originally, but our designer did). Our galleries used to look like they do in your live demo here http://bdwm.be/rgg/demo/ rather than square thumbnails. Can you advise what the settings might be to get it back to that? Here’s a screenshot of my settings/options: https://snag.gy/V8xYKp.jpg
Hi Sarah, this is what your URL looks like over here: https://snag.gy/MYe9dN.jpg
The images are not square. Depending on your crop settings and theme settings, in most case medium should be the image size you use. If you want to be sure that the images aren’s cropped, you can use full, but in that case you better make sure that the images you upload to wordpress are already compressed, otherwise your page load times will be outrageous.
The only thing I can think of that might be your problem is that the pages are cached. If you are on firefox or chrome please press ctrl+shift+R to clear your cache, and if that doesn’t work, try with ctrl+shift+del.
If you are on mac I believe you can press cmd+shift+R but better be sure and look up how to clear the cache for your browser
Hi Jules – still not working this end. I’ve cleared the site page cache, Chrome page cache, set it to thumbnail and then medium and it’s still not right. Here’s the same page you screen grabbed earlier (it’s also appearing like this on mobile) https://snag.gy/kPQgdO.jpg
Any other ideas?
No, I’m kind of clueless on this one. I still believe it’s a problem on your computer only. Have you tried asking other people or visit the website from another computer outside of your LAN?
Hey Jules – thanks, it seems to be working now. Not sure what it was, but the galleries are back/showing ok here again.
Glad it worked out for you Sarah! My guess is still that it had to do with caching at some some level.
