Hey,
Are you using the latest version of the theme? Also make sure all your plugins are up to date. If the error still shows I would suggest deactivating plugins to test if one is conflicting. Let me know if there’s no change.
Hannah
Dear Hannah,
Thank you for your reply.
I’m using the latest version of virtue theme (2.5.7) and all plugins are up to date. I’ve tried disable plugins one by one but Google WT still showing Error: Missing required field”updated” and hcard”author” on homepage only. Beside homepage, all page and post are have complete hatom-entry.
Do you have solution for this?
Is there a way to manually insert hentry data (field”updated” and hCard”author”) to HOMEPAGE only?
Thanks,
Hey,
Those are part of the latest posts section. I can see your hiding the title.. I’ll push an update out that should fix this for you. Probably out in the next couple days.

Hi,

Dou you have solution for this?
Thanks,

Hi,
I have checked in https://developers.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/, it seems need to input :
author [hcard]:
fn:
Here is the screenshoot, do you have solution?
Thanks,
ok, so no error you just want it to have the author. In that case you have to actually show the author in your output. Right now it’s hidden. If you actually want the author to be part of the content then it has to be part of the content. Meaning it has to be showing. Is that what your wanting? I was under the impression you didn’t want errors and you didn’t want to show the author?

Hi,
Sorry for late response, I’ve been very busy this week.
I’ve tried to show the author under the post excerpt on the homepage (WP admin dashboard > Appearance > Theme Options > Page/Post Settings > Blog Post Author Box Default > Yes, Show)
After i check at https://developers.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/ my homepage still “Missing: author”
Do you have solution?
Thanks,
Deni
Hey Deni,
I can see the author displaying on your homepage. It could just be that the cache hasn’t cleared yet. My guess is it will show up in the next day or so. You could also try contacting Google Developers
Hannah
Hmm, That should have worked. Let me rethink how I can get google to show this in there tools.

Hi Guys,
I also have a same problem like as mentioned in above threads. But, the thing is I’m using divi child theme and implemented structured data on website pages & posts. Now, when I test these pages and posts in Google Structured Data Testing Tool, all showing green, no error no warning. Now when i check my website in Google webmaster tool under structured data section, it is showing error of Data type: hentry with Missing: author and Missing: updated error. I searched a lot everywhere nut never got any solution.
It will be great, if you guys can tell me about it.
Thanks,
Rahul
Hi rahulmishra85,
This post has already been marked as resolved. Do you mind starting a new thread and providing a link to your site?
Thank you!
