    Hello,

I have been having some issues with my contact 7 forms on one website. It is very strange because I use the same build and plugins on a number of sites and no of the others have issues. When google recaptcha is enabled an error message saying the submission cannot be complete right now is provided. When I remove the recaptcha keys and save all functions normally.

I have tried reinstalling as well as a number of other suggestions I have seen in other posts with no luck. If I don’t come up with a solution soon I am going to have to rebuild my forms with another plugin. 🙁

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Best,

    Matt

  • The info you supplied indicates reCAPTCHA v3 is not working correctly on your site. CF7 5.1.+ updated to reCAPTCHA (v3).

Is the error border color orange or red?

If it’s orange – see Contact Form 7 5.1.1 – theme needs to properly loads JavaScript in the footer area of each page.

Switch temporarily (nothing will be lost when you switch back) to a WP default theme to see if the problem goes away.

If this fixes the problem & you can’t get your theme fixed, you might try using Contact Form 7 – reCaptcha v2 in addition to Contact Form 7. Once installed and configured it offers the same reCaptcha functionality you are used to in previous versions of Contact Form 7 (recommended by CF7 plugin author).

@buzztone thanks for the suggestions. I switched my theme to the twenty nineteen one and experienced the issue still. The warning colour is the orange one.

I also tried the plugin you suggested, but the recaptcha field in the form on the front end says “ERROR for site owner: Invalid site key”. I signed up for a v2 checkbox recaptcha and used the keys for that and received this error.

    Thanks for your help!

@matthew016 I had the same issue also with the site owner error, but I’ve solved it by unchecking the “Verify the origin of reCAPTCHA solutions” in the Google reCAPTCHA settings. Not sure what are the side-effects of having this option not checked… but at least the forms are sent again.

Hopefully the problem with v3 will be solved soon…. Good luck!
