Hi Guys,

How can I install and use updraft on a wordpress instance that is in Google App Engine? Because I can’t seem to create a writable folder for backups in the wp-content directory.

Hi,

UpdraftPlus should be able to run where WordPress is able to run.

The wp-content directory should have the file permissions and ownership that allows WordPress (and by extension UpdraftPlus) to write to that directory.

Smashing Magazine has a good article on the file permissions and ownerships needed to run WordPress correctly:

Could you check that your setup matches that in the article?

Hi! Thanks. But it seems like Google App Engine itself can’t make it writable. Is there any way i can have updraft write in google cloud storage?

Hi,

I’m afraid that I am not very familiar with Google App Engine. I would recommend contacting Google’s support, and asking how to change the permissions for the directory.
