    Hi,
I have some more issues regarding the plugin before I can review it:

    1. my standard google germany entry is at the moment: http://www.wordup.de/?lang=de

I don’t think that the language suffix is needed and it might be bad for the ranking.

    2. When I use auto-publish at LinkedIn I get the following entry (here is an example):

[:de]WORDUP PR berät US High-Tech-Startup SimpliVity[:]

This also does not look very nice. Any chance to get rid of the [:DE] brackets?

    Kind regards

@megamuc: you could simply add your vote, you do not need to go for a war for us 😉

I thought there are WordPress standards

Exactly, it would be easy to add hooks necessary, like Woocommerce did for us without hesitation, but this guy got some “ideas”. Yes, those hooks would have to exists there to begin with if one strictly follows the WP standard, but nobody has time to do everything. In most cases it gets advanced per user demand.

Does this problem break front-end functionality or is it just an admin inconvenience?

If so, then I would not say it is a big of a deal for a free plugin, besides, there are many other SEO plugins.

I more worry about LinkedIn, how can we reproduce the problem?

Hey 🙂 no war, I don’t understand enough of this issue. But WP is open source and yes, plugins are free. If it works better then, I can also pay for it?
I am interested in good solutions, not personal stuff between the yoast and the qtrans team…. Professional point of view, sorry.
Dont know how to reproduce LinkedIn, they wrote me that their development team is looking at it….
In the end I chose the wrong plugins, I don’t have time for this.
    Sad thing.
    Take care

Ps: i dont know if it affects front end. I only learned that I cannot use yoast seo backend system properly….. Which is not good for plugin compatibility reasons…. So: wrong plugins, a lot of wasted time. Sad thing…..

You find that also for qTranslate X?

Well: if you pretend to work with yoast seo and have your own compatibility plugin: yes! And linkedin is also an issue though I dont know what the problem is. Fact is: everything went fine with qtrans, but then I had the weird idea to use the yoast seo plugin and my problems started….

Really: no time to go into this for weeks fact is: it does not work in my implementation….

@megamuc: I am sorry you sound disappointed. Please understand, this is a community project and people participating make things work for themselves. As a result other people benefit too and the whole thing moves forward. Nobody in this community complained about SEO compatibility in the way you did, I guess, they do not consider important that tiny thing, which you found not working. When enough people complain, somebody will step up and figure out a solution. This is how the community works. If you do not have time for this, you are right, this is not a community you wish to be part of, just hire somebody who knows what they are doing they will set it up for you.

I am sorry that your expectations did not match, unfortunately this is a part of our live, is not it? Just take it easy. Good luck to you. I would be curious at the end to know which combination of plugins eventually worked for you, if you would share it with us with a couple of lines when you are ready. Thanks a lot.

well yes, John, I am a little bit disappointed. I come from a combination of “All in one SEO” and original qtranslate, which worked perfectly for years. As a matter of fact, yoast is a much better SEO plugin and the detail that you claim “tiny” is rather crucial for this plugin: you can write your posts seo optimizted and yoast shows you how good your optimization is with red, yellow and green buttons…. I have this plugin installed on another website and it is brilliant…. So I really wonder why no one complained so far, this function is essential to the use of yoast….

Anyway, I understand that yoast is only compatible with some other translation plugins and that the developer refuses to cooperate with qtranslate and its derivates – why so ever. So my solution will be to change the transation plugin though this is a lot of work and means changing configuration and pages and content and everything. I hoped to find a way to avoid this….. yoast is one of the best SEO plugins you can find and I already see the effects on my other site….. So yes, disappointed, but such is life. by the way: I have an offer to test another, very new seo plugin that claims to be even better than yoast. I really doubt that they optimize their code towards qtranslate but I will of course ask them. In the end it seems that qtranslate was brilliant and great idea, but it lacks compatibility.

    Take care and thank you!
