Go Daddy and WordPress Self-Hosting
-
I bought a Go Daddy hosting account for my WordPress blog that I have been using for several months (itslaurenservideo.com, itslaurenservideo.wordpress.com). I know that WordPress 2.8 is installed ‘inside’ of Go Daddy on the ‘Hosting Server’ as they call it.
1) Does this mean I need to download WordPress 2.8 to my Macbook? I spent most of today working with MAMP and XAMPP using ‘localhost’, which actually took me to the wordpress.com admin page, but as soon as I changed the URL from localhost to ‘itslaurenservideo.com/wordpress’, it crashed on me. I think it uninstalled and re-installed too many times because MAMP and XAMP have stopped working.
2) Go Daddy has sent me an email stating the following: Dear Lauren Servideo,
“WordPress 2.8 has been successfully installed on your hosting account. To launch this application, click on the URL below or copy and paste it into your browser window:
http://itslaurenservideo.com/wordpressblog/
Your newly-installed application can also be launched through the Value Application Manager. It resides on the home page under the “My Applications” panel.”
but whenever I go to http://itslaurenservideo.com/wordpressblog, it says “Page not Found”
Please Help!!
