getting “Can’t Select Database” error

Hello,

Problem: I’m getting the “Can’t Select Database” error on attempting to install WP on a server for somebody:

I’ve searched and read about 12 threads regarding this problem and haven’t seen anything that helped in my case.

The username and database name are correct in my wp-config file (believe me, I’ve checked many times and I’m a veteran with configuring new WP sites), and the user has Master User privileges. I tried setting up a second user and giving that user all priveleges, but got the same error with that user as well.

I believe the domain is hosted by a company called icdsoft… that’s the only part of the equation I’ve never dealt with before.

I’ve installed WordPress on a several domain servers, and never run into this problem before… If there’s a known issue with icdsoft servers and someone here is aware of it, please let me know.
