You can select the type of access you want to give your wordpress visitors like subscribers , authors , administrators,….
You will find a widget under the appearance link in your dashboard named as “meta” which when displayed in your wordpress displays a link to register.
An example you will find it on my blog at http://newbiesparadise.co.cc/blog on the right side after scrolling a little bit down.
Hope that helps
Thanks, that’s useful. But do you know how I could remove the RSS and WordPress.org links? I’d want to use this strictly as login and registration.
You may need to edit 1 or 2 of your theme’s template files but without seeing your site, I couldn’t suggest which files.
Sorry about that, it’s http://prova.server296.com.
Also, is it possible to collect other data beyond what WP currently offers? For example, we’re a non-profit organization that would like to have members’ address, phone number, etc.
You seem to have sorted the RSS and WordPress.org links now.
With regard to other data, where would you be collecting this data? If it’s via the site, you might want to have a look at some of the membership management plugins.
Oh actually, I just turned it off. It’s back on. Can you check it out again?
You can’t turn off individual links within the Meta widget. So you’d be better off removing the Meta widget and adding the registration and login links/template tags to your sidebar.
