Galleries not working
-
I just updated to 2.0.33 and now my galleries aren’t opening in a box that you can slide through. Instead each image opens in a new window and you have to use the back button to go back to the thumbnails.
What am I missing?

Maybe I should edit this to say that the lightbox function isn’t working and was before? Anybody have suggestions?
Hi Krystyn
We have the same issue.
http://www.crowdphotographer.com/weddings/http://wordpress.org/plugins/nextgen-gallery/
But your gallery seems to be up and running again?
I reverted back to version 1.9.x. The one right before 2.0 and got it working again. I posted on another thread saying that worked. It had directions for going back to a previous version.
Forgot to update here. Good luck.
Krystyn
thankyou so much 🙂
cheers
team
crowdphotographerooow btw where did you find 1.9?…
Aah thanks again.
Found it
We’re having a heatwave here @bali so we’re not so supersharp.have a great day
Thanks Krystyn
I’m having the same problem with a clients site right now! I’ll give the roll back a go
Cheers
JamesAll – Lightbox Effects not working can be from a few different points. If you are just now seeing them with the latest update to 2.0.33 we would really like to get that sorted out.
Please submit a Bug Report (http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/report-bug/ … please also reference this topic) so we can help you sort out what might be the issue.
Thanks!
– Cais.
Hi @photocrati (Cais). I did submit a bug report. I noticed this problem with 2.0.33, but when I tried to revert back, I had to go all the way back to 1.9.X (I can’t recall), to get the lightbox to work.
I changed the permalinks, I turned off all plugins, etc, and wasn’t able to resolve the issue any other way.
Same problem here. Going back to an older version of NextGen seems like a temporary solution? I’m not very good at the whole page creating thing and hope this can be fixed with an other update soon?
Not working for me either!
Hey all – to echo Cais’s post above, for us to resolve this, we really need to be able to see it and get into a site having the issue. We’re not having any issues on a dozen+ test sites and most users aren’t having issues. That said, enough of you are that I suspect something is going on that’s affecting a specific subset of users. We’d really like to identify what it is and resolve it rather than having you roll back to the 1.9.13 version.
If anyone is having this issue and is willing, please submit a bug report with WordPress and FTP credentials so we can troubleshoot.

Short of that, it’s hard to suggest troubleshooting steps kind of blind. But a few thoughts:
*Try momentarily deactivating all other plugins to see if it works. Many lightbox issues are caused by plugin conflicts (@krystyn – I know you said you already did this.
*Check your theme options and see if your theme has it’s own lightbox options. If so, it’s almost certainly a theme conflict.
*Check this post for a few other tips:

I am using Thesis 1.8. I wasn’t having any problems until I updated. I honestly don’t know if I was having issues with all of the 2.X… I don’t think I was, but once I updated to the most recently, the lightbox wasn’t loading.
I don’t see any lightbox options in my theme, either.
I’m happy to update if you could possibly give me an ideal time as I don’t want to leave it opening in a new window for an extended period of time as it looks terrible.
I think I’m having the same problem.
The thumbnails and slideshow work fine (in fact the slideshow looks nicer, cleaner, than before although I need to adjust the size settings a bit).
But the single image setting goes to a page with just the image on and no stylesheet and, as the op says, you have to use the browser back button to get back again.
My site is http://www.joe-music.net/ and the galleries are at http://www.joe-music.net/wordpress/gallery/
As far as I know I don’t use lightbox and nor does my theme.
