• I’m beginning to think maybe I made a big mistake by trying to construct a WordPress blog. I’ve built many sites with Homestead’s Sitebuilder and thought maybe I knew enough to proceed to WordPress, but I’m overwhelmed with what I’m seeing and I’m beginning to think that I just don’t know enough to pull this off.

I have three main issues that I’m concerned about. First is having the static home page. I was advised that I should have a review of the main product that I’m promoting as my static home page. I set up a page titled as the name of my product (XYZ PRODUCT REVIEW). Everything is set up and looks good but, but I no longer have a page called Home. Will this cause a problem for me?

Second, the title of my blog is “Ovarian Cysts Treatments”, and my URL is ovarian-cysts-treatments.com. My posts will be in regard to the natural treatment of ovarian cysts. As I said, I have my review as my static home page and I would like that page to rank for keywords containing the name of the book, I.E., NATURAL OVARIAN CURES REVIEW. Did I already make a huge mistake by not naming my site and url after the name of the book? I have the SEO All In One plugin and I have used the name of the book as my home page keywords, but will the fact that my blog title and url are “ovarian cysts treatments” rather than the name of the book keep me from ever ranking for “Natural Ovarian Cures Review” and other such keywords containing the name of the book?

I have been advised to add other ping sites besides just pingomatic. Is this a good idea or not?

Only if you want a page called ‘Home’.

No. Why would it? Search engines use more than the site name and URL in their calculations.

You don’t want to overdo it, but adding a few more shouldn’t hurt.
