    Hi, I’m setting up a website that relies on getting content from visitors and I’m looking for some advice as to which direction I should take.

    To summarize, the site will require custom post types (possibly up to 9) and a form for each of these to which a visitor can access from the front-end and use to submit content. Ideally the visitor will need to be registered before they can add (or manage) the content. The forms should reference two ‘category’ options (ie Cat1 = Format / Cat2 = Location) which the user can select from a drop-down list of predefined options as well as some custom field options that I can set-up to capture the data. Its also important that the visitor can add ‘tags’ to their content.

    Once the content is submitted it will need to be verified (by way of an email process) then published automatically to the site, though I, as the administrator, would wish to be able retrospectively manage this content and remove it where appropriate.

    That, in a nutshell, is the website!

    The problem I have is that there seems to be so many options for achieving the above! So, I’m hoping that the good folks on the forum can point me in the right direction and provide some suggestions for plugins, themes, frameworks etc…

    Any thoughts and suggestion would be most welcome.

    Krishna, both of your links make no sense. Both seem to refer to multisite installations but my query relates to one, single website… I am not looking to create a multisite installation of any type. Is it possible you have misread the original post or not understood the concept properly!

    You do know that a single wordpress installation can have multiple user adding content! I’m sure you do, but have you ever created a website with multiple users adding content? This is what I am looking for assistance on… from someone that has been there and done it!

    Not at all. But the other parts of your post point to the possibility of the links that I quoted. If both does not suit you, in standard WordPress installation, you can add the people whose content that you want to publish as users (giving them roles such as author, subscriber, editor, contributor, etc). In all these cases, login by them will be required for posting (no automatic posting).

    Krishna, they don’t answer my questions… they don’t even come close to answering my questions or any part of my original post.

    I will close this post now. not because its resolved, but because I feel you have hijacked the topic, and the advice, at best, is inaccurate and misses the point.

    I’m sure you are just trying to be ‘helpful’, but please remember, if you don’t have the experience then you should probably let someone else respond who does have the experience.
