Formatting problems for media uploads

I have had a terrible time trying to format the headings under images that I am uploading onto a page.

I am uploading individual images as opposed to a gallery or slide show because I use each individual image to link to a gallery/slideshow on another page. However I can not get image headings consistent, and sometimes text headings will arbitrarily change size when I edit an adjacent image?! Also if I attempt to add a new image it messes up the size and placement of a adjacent images, or shifts the heading away from the image it had previously been attached to?! The text and the images seem to work independent of each other and I can’t find a simple way to add new images without messing up the ones that are already there.

This seems like it should be a simple fix but I have been going around in circles trying to fix it and can’t get it to look consistent.
