• Howdy,
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced the problem of lots of weird formatting entries when an article is emailed into the blog. I get lots of =, =20 and =3D20 at the end of each line or inbetween lines.
I’ve also had a few instances where the posts showed up as total garbage – just random strings of numbers and letters. I assume this is because the post was sent in the wrong format – but what is the right format, and how do I force everyone’s email client to use it?
    Cheers,
    Dalton

  • Probably because it’s coming in as RTF.
HTML emails *ought* to work fine as a plain text version is usually added to it (not that you couldn’t just insert html into a wordpress thing with it working fine.)
You may wish to submit a bug report.

Actually, I just has somebody post from an AOL account. And even though the message is sent as both plain text and HTML, WordPress took the HTML version and I got all the HTML code in the post. Is that not supposed to happen?

I’ve just verified that several of the mangled posters are using web based Microsoft Outlook, which defaults to RTF. Rats.
