Formal education?
-
Hello,
I’ve been considering grad school for the past couple of years but I never really knew what I wanted to do. I’ve always had the idea of some type of web design in the back of my head but never followed through with it.
I recently started messing around with WordPress and CSS and it has sparked my interest to the point that I’m considering some type of formal education.
I know that a lot of this stuff is self taught and learned through certifications – no real formal education is required.
That being said, I’m in a situation where all my tuition would be paid by the Army. However, in order for them to pay for anything you have to be in a degree program. In other words, they don’t pay for any type of training or certifications. I really want to take advantage of education money while I still have the chance.
I’ve tried searching Google for graduate programs in web design and all I really get are the typical results (Devry, Phoenix Online, etc). I’m a little skeptical about these types of places. I don’t want a generic degree that just anyone can get. I want definitely want something that will give me some real experience.
That’s why I here. I’m hoping that you, the folks in this field, can give me some advice about furthering my education in the area of web design .
