I have just installed the Give plugin and set up two campaigns. What I would like is to use the Modal Form Display to keep things cleaner looking. But, in any other Display besides ‘All Fields’ the Submit button doesn’t work. Oddly, it works fine if I preview the changes. The site uses the template Twenty Twelve.

Hi there, sorry you’re having trouble. Can you provide a link to your page where you are experiencing the problem with the All Fields display method? I need to see the problem live in order to help best.

    Thanks, Matt – http://www.alalusifoundation.org/donation-test

Oh… wait! I am only able to continue with All Fields. Everything else, results in nothing happening. I’ll change one to Reveal and leave the other All Fields for you to see.

Thanks I see the problem. There’s another plugin creating a conflict with our JS. Please try going to “Donations > Settings > Advanced” and change the “Script location” to “Footer”.

Let me know if that resolves the issue for you.

    Oy! I was so hopeful!
    But it still doesn’t work.

OK, this looks like a conflict with a plugin called “Data Tables”. Try disabling that for now to confirm it works as intended without that plugin.

If you can live without that other plugin that’s great. Otherwise, I can try to replicate this conflict locally and see if I can provide you with a workaround so they can play nice together.

Let me know how it goes.

Unfortunately, that looks like it’s still not it. This site doesn’t have Data Tables installed but did have two other table making plugins, one of which was not being used. So I deleted that one and deactivated the other. Same result. Then I deactivated every plugin except for Give and it still will not respond.

    The mystery thickens!

Sorry, the actual plugin name is “Ultimate Tables” and seems to still be installed. See here:

    Donation – Test

Please deactivate that one (and clear any caching you might have) and see if that resolves it — it should.

All seems to work now, though it appears to be one of a variety of things.
I did what you requested but also updated the theme, Twenty Twelve. I don’t know what version it was using but there’d been many updates since then. That resulted in the whole site being screwed up. Everything worked but it looked horrible. I guess the template had changed so much in the years since update that the formatting jumped to a point where I couldn’t save it. With that drama in front of me, I also updated WordPress core software and then changed the theme to one that looked similar and flowed properly for this foundation’s needs (I am a volunteer webmaster… who broke their site).
Anyway, the reason for this tale is that, in the end, I reactivated Ultimate Tables and both Give and Ultimate Tables work happily, for your information.

Awesome, sounds like a lot of fun 😉 !

Glad you got it worked out in the end and that there’s no conflict.

    Keep up the good work!
