Flexx Theme – widgets not displaying

I am having a problem with the Flexx layout and wondered if anyone could help.

I have a number of static pages which display the right sidebar widgets OK, however the right sidebar widgets are not showing on the Blog Home Page or Post pages.

I have checked all settings but can’t see anywhere that shows why this would be inactive. I have turned on the widget area ‘placeholders’ and it looks like the sidebars are there – but just not displaying the active widgets!
