I’ve used this plugin on several sites, and as far as I’m aware, you can only use one instance of it, in one place on your site. I’m not even sure if you can use it in a page… I don’t see why not, but I’ve never had any success with it…
I also use it and just tried putting the call in both my left and right sidebar and it worked. The funny thing is that I don’t have the plugin activated.
<li><?php include (ABSPATH.'/wp-content/flashfader/flashfaderhtml.txt'); ?></li>
So, I guess you could make a flashfaderhtml1.txt and edit it for the new images.

Hi jwurster,
I put your code on my sidebar directly under my first slide-show. (called Percaso cover)This is the effect.
‘Warning: main(/home.2/metropolz/www/wordpress//wp-content/flashfader/flashfaderhtml1.txt): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home.2/metropolz/www/wordpress/wp-content/themes/relaxation_3column 2/sidebar.php on line 103’
‘Warning: main(): Failed opening ‘/home.2/metropolz/www/wordpress//wp-content/flashfader/flashfaderhtml1.txt’ for inclusion (include_path=’.:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home.2/metropolz/www/wordpress/wp-content/themes/relaxation_3column 2/sidebar.php on line 103′
If I place exactly the same code I used for the first time:
‘<?php
include (ABSPATH.”wp-content/flashfader/flashfaderhtml.txt”);
?>’
then the slide-show gallery shows up two times with the same content.
Any thoughts ?
Klaus
My path is different than yours. Hence the errors. So, you do see 2 galleries. Then you should be able to make another file as I mentioned above. If I get some time today, I’ll try it.
I did get it to work. Please see my blog at http://www.jwurster.us/wordpress/ for instructions and for a working example of flashfader running in the left and right sidebars with different images.

Hi,
thanks a lot. Will try it as soon as possible. At this moment my server is down. Will answer to you as soon as possible. Just one remark: Do you think it works also two or more times just on one specific side-bar ? In my case I would love to have multiple galleries on my 3rd sidebar, each one under another.
Greetings from France
Klaus
P.S. I went through the simpler viewer instructions ( I mean your’s) Felicitation, the best ones I ever read.
Thanks. If you get 2 to work, then I don’t see why 3 or more wouldn’t work. However, I think design-wise that would be overwhelming to your visitors.

well, fading-in and out will be very slow. The whole thing is, I want to slide the cd covers of different labels I distribute via http://www.m-etropolis.com/wordpress. In general, the page is very ‘quiet’ and will use only this Flashfader as an effect.
Will let you know as soon.
Have a nice day.

Hi jwurster,
in my flashfader folder I have 1. flashfader php 2nd. the flashfader flash object 3rd. the how to use text.
Sorry, I do not understand where to change the html and xml files.
Would be great getting some help from your side, cause I’m lost for the moment.
Greetings
Klaus
P.S. my page is working again.
Those files are generated after you activate the plugin and set up flashfader. So, even though I deactivated the plugin, the key generated files were there so that my flashfader ran.
So, it looks like you have to activate the plugin and actually set it up for one set of images. Then you can work with the files I mentioned on my blog. Sorry, I thought you had it set up.

Hi, thanks for your comment.
But I can’t activate a second flashfader. Therefore no chance to edit this plug-in with the editor.
Actually there is one flashfader running on my page.
Sorry for disturbing you with all my questions.

Then you have to find the folder in which the images you use with this flashfader are located. That’s where the ancillary files are.

ok, in my folder I have all images of my existing gallery plus data.txt, flashfaderhtml.txt, images.txt and images.xml
Now I just have to rename the folder into flashfaderhtml1.txt. and images1.xml. ?
The configuration of this “new” gallery can be done in the wp-menue bar etc.
Hope I’m right !?

No, sorry if I mislead you. The wp-admin will only allow you to set up one flashfader. My techique will allow you to set up a second one but with the same settings as the first. To do this you have to make copies of the flashfaderhtml.txt and images.xml.
So, not to bog down the forum with this back and forth, please email me at jwurster at comcast dot net to continue the conversation. I’ll help as best I can.
