• My first blog post, sticky or not, dissapeared and nothing gets it back. It shows in the admin with the full text and the title shows in the last blog posts. I wondered if a hacker entered my site by subscribing at the start, before posting. I saw his username in the forum were the post text was missing but only the title appearing. WHen clicking on the “Original blog read” Its empty with the tile and tags and categories and link to forum.

I tried to deactivate all plugins: See below.

I even copied the text into a new post I created, with the same title but a 2 at the end. But with the same result: Only the title is visible and the links and tags under the post body. I tried submitting a new post and it was no problem. I don’t understand if it can be in the html of the text. I tried removing the image at the top but nothing changed.

I have the simple press forum plugin, the all in one seo plugin and akismet plugin. The SEO I activated yesterday so I thought that was the problem. But I thought it might have got to do with the forum plugin since I perhaps deleted the duplicate in the forum. I had linked the blog to the forum.

    Please help

PS: It is bothersome. This sudden problem stole half a day from me so far. Tech problem = cause of 1/3 of all the stress in the world. SUperusers go home, your hypochondric needs make the world a hell for all others due to bugs, lack of overview of programs that originally just covered simple and IMPORTANT functions. Not all that unneccesary snot that we less eccentric people have to bother with always. Tech problems seem to be hell. DId you ever think about that? People who like those problems must in my opinion be one or both of these ..

    1) Be extremely monotonous of taste and lacking creativity
    2) Be Sadomasochists

What a relief saying that out loud

Uh. Well. Sorry the product isn’t perfect? Personally, I think mechanical problems are hell, but it’s all a ‘what your skill set is’ thing.

If it shows up in the admin, what’s missing? Is it just not on the front page of your site anymore?

Can you get to it by visiting it’s URL directly?

But I thought it might have got to do with the forum plugin since I perhaps deleted the duplicate in the forum. I had linked the blog to the forum.

Are you SURE that was a duplicate?

I forgot to continue the joke with : “Microsoft MS ought to be called SM” since its often rather a sadomasochistic (SM) kind of experience, especially when changing versions.

Scouts honour, I like WOrdpress and plugins in general. It rocks and I would never change from that to some other commercial site builder. Hope some are relieved now.

    Now the problem:

You are right: It’s dissapeared from the blog page which I set to some other page than the home page since on my home page I preferred to have a static one. SO in Settings/General/reading I set this so I get the posts show up on another page.

It comes up without text but all the rest if I click the “blog” in the navigation or select is as one of the recent posts in the widget.

No matter how you access the page it comes without the text but only without the text itself. On the main post page all the other posts are as usual. As I said I tried to copy the text to a new post I created and it came out empty. I wonder if the text can cause itself to dissapear. Seems strange.

SOlved it myself by cutting the blog post into two equally long parts.

DOes anyone know what the limit is? I didn’t know about a limit and before I moved it to a static page (when I had it on my home page) I had all the text in one post with no problem.

There’s no limit in WordPress but you may be hitting a limit imposted by your server/hosts.
