file uploads

2 problems
1. latest version of Caldera forms not loading ‘entries’
2. I have a WordPress Multiste site at pinknoise.biz/main/
I want to allow file uploads on this page – pinknoise.biz/main/updates (password: update)
I have set both the form with the upload option and the WordPress network settings to allow XLS, XLSX, CSV and TXT file types.
All works fine when logged in as super admin, but XLS and XLSX uploads are refused if logged in at any other permission level – and I would prefer to allow uploads of the above types for non logged in users. The message returned is: Sorry, this file type is not permitted for security reasons.
As I have set the permissions in WordPress, I read on the internet that this could be a hosting security issue.
Host response:
We have reviewed the reported issue and we were also able to recreate it on our end — not logged visitors are unable to upload . xlsx files. At this point, we have reviewed all logs on the server and we have not found any error messages or warnings reporting this issue. Considering this, I would like to eliminate any server-related settings, as in case there are settings which would not allow uploading .xlsx files, they would be global and not only for visitors that are not logged.
What we suspect is that the limit for uploading .xlsx files is limit set by WordPress application as core settings and we believe that the plugin Caldera Forms which you are using would actually extend that functionality to allow uploading .xlsx files for guest users. This is why, we suggest contacting the developers of Caldera Forms so they could review this issue and probably suggest the required change/modification.
