Feedburner ?

Hi. I am pretty new here, and really “green” (heh) 🙂
so be gentle.
I am wanting to put a facebook button and email subscription button on my blog (Chateau theme).
I of course went to feedburner website to “register” . When I tried to follow the link for a feedburner account, the page did not exist. I poked around and found that it is now a google thing and I signed up for that.
That website suggested that I install the Feedburner Feedsmith plug in which I did.
Now however, the facebook button seems to work but the rss/email feeds do not.
(sigh)
Is this fixable or really a pain to use?
I am REALLY wanting an email feed sign up on my blog.
How is the EASIEST way to get a nice email subscribe button/set-up ?
