Feature request: Widget-style ajax signup for as shortcode

    The widget version of the signup form is fantastic! I’ve been having problems with the shortcode version on content-heavy pages because whenever the submit button is clicked, the entire page needs to re-load. This is particularly bad if someone enters an incorrect email address, because they may not wait till the page reloads to see the error message.

    Until now I’ve been putting the shortcode into a blank page, then loading that page as an iframe so that only the iframe re-loads when the submit button is clicked. But I just discovered the widget version- it’s perfect!

    Can you enable it as a shortcode so we can use this ajax version of the form in pages and posts as well?

    The shortcode subscribe form and widget are actually the exact same template file and the same CSS, just added CSS for the post/page subscribe form to show “two columns”.

    Which part of the widget do you want in the post/page subscribe form? Maybe your post/page subscribe form just needs to be configured under Newsletters > Configuration > General > Default Subscription Form Settings to turn on/off Ajax, captcha, etc?

    Hi again. To be more specific, I’m talking about the ajax feature of the widget that allows it to be submitted without needing to refresh the page.

    This isn’t possible with the shortcode, unless I’m missing something?

    Never mind, I found the option in configuration. Awesome!! Is this a new feature?

    No, it is not a new feature, it’s been there a while.
