fatal error during installation

    I have just installed wordpress on a new domain on the same server, so I started from the beginning, but unlike my last installation that went perfectly something didnt quite work..

    I deleted the old wordpress database and started again from scratch.

    This is the error I am getting:

    Warning: main(/home/lifei12/public_html/wp-admin/includes/file.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/lifei12/public_html/wp-admin/includes/admin.php on line 5

    Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/lifei12/public_html/wp-admin/includes/file.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/lifei12/public_html/wp-admin/includes/admin.php on line 5

    I checked and the file.php is there.

    Any suggestions?

    Are you sure all of your files uploaded correctly? A quick look at your /wp-admin/includes/ folder indicates that misc.php is missing. I’m not sure if that has any immediate impact on your particular problem, but perhaps there was an error during the ftp process that could have affected other things as well. Just food for thought.
