Please would you assist me in getting my wordpress site back on track! I tried to change the theme a little while back and ever since then I can no longer access my site at all. When I try to login at: http://smicequestrian.co.za/wp-login.php i get the following error message:
“Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_theme() in /home/farday/public_html/wp-content/themes/lobster/functions.php on line 25”
The same error message appears when I try and view the site: http://www.smicequestrian.co.za.

Please let me know how I can resolve this issue or alternately if I can just scrap this site, start again and just transfer my domain name?
Please help! I really need this site to get going for the sake of my business.

This is a problem with the theme. Your site is still there so there’s no need to scrap it and start again, you just have to access the server and remove the problem theme. The easiest way to do that is to delete it or rename the folder holding it.

Do you know how to access your server through FTP?

If not, this will help – https://codex.wordpress.org/Using_FileZilla

Speak to your host if you don’t know your username etc, they should give it to you.

    My Assumptions.

1.You are using the free version of the theme.
    2. You tried to change some credit links for which you already have been forbidden to do.
    .
As of now due to edits in the code, theme function it unable to make a successful call.

Login to Your cPanel or FTP.

Get into /wp-content/plugins and delete them.

    If still problem persists.
You need to re-install it. Hope you got access of Mojomarketplace (Once click install/uninstall)

You are using WordPress 3.3.2. wp_get_theme was introduced in 3.4.0 so it’s not available to you.

    Upgrade WordPress.

I am at my wits end! I am so sorry for all the question buts I ma very new to this and perhaps not quite understanding the problem…

I was using an elegant theme but have since decided to stick to the free themes but still using my own domain name. I cant seem to access the cpanel or /wp-content/plugins.
I am seriously thinking that deleting and re-starting is the best option. Any idea on how I could do this? And still keep my domain name?

Have you tried renaming your “lobster” theme’s folder so that it deactivates?
