Try:
– switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder using FTP (or use whatever file management application your host provides)
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.
– re-running the upgrade manually.
– reviewing http://wordpress.org/support/topic/411649
Thanks for the help but still no joy! I’ll keep searching the forum this problem seems rather common.
I’ve just rolled back to 2.9.2 still same error.
I had the same problem yesterday evening having tried to upgrade for the first time. It doesn’t do a lot for your confidence when having never done an upgrade before and it has to be done manually, it didn’t work!!
Luckily I took a full copy of all the files and just installed 2.9.2 back and everything was fine.
Is this a major problem or just a few users?
ast9858 – Just a few users.
wildthyme – When you ran the upgrade manually, did you delete the wp-admin and wp-includes folders first? Sometimes an overlay upgrade kills a file (This is common in ANY upgrade of any app, BTW)
Yes deleted the wp-admin and wp-includes folders first
Any one else got any help please?
