• I’ve been working on this blog for a couple of days…

http://www.mysite.com/blog

What I’m looking to do is set up another page for direct newsfeeds only. Kinda like this…

http://www.mysite.com/news

But I want to keep the same template. I’m just not sure how to do that.
Would I have to set up the word press software on another page?

My reason for doing this is that I want an outlet for my visitors to be able to stay up to date completely using newsfeeds on… http://mysite.com/news

And I want to use the http://www.mysite.com/blog address to give my personal thoughts on specific events in the news without all the newsfeeds getting in the way and making everything seem jumbled.

Anybody know how to do this?

Does anybody know how to do this?

Not sure I completely understand what you want but…
1. mysite.com IS a real domain, don’t use it for example!
Correctly, for examples you should type example.com

2. You can create endless number of Pages and Page template with custom code:
http://codex.wordpress.org/Pages
http://codex.wordpress.org/Pages#Page_Templates

3. Not sure example.com/blog is going to be? A category?

WHat I want to do is set up another page seperate from my blog post to display newsfeeds only.

Can that be done?

Newsfeeds of what? Your own blog? From other places?
You need to be more specific when asking for help.

I’m sorry. From multiple places.

Create a Page in WP with a custom Page Template.
You should have some feedreader application in that template.
Search for “displaying RSS (or feed) on my blog” and similar keywords, combinations.

OK thanks

Well I’m a total noob, and after trying that I’m dont know what to do. I’ve also read up the info here…

http://codex.wordpress.org/Pages#Page_Templates

I’m not understanding what folder my custom page template would go if I even needed one.

I just want to have newsfeeds and my blog post on seperate pages.

How can I do this?

Your custom page template lives in your theme folder. And I don’t use feeds so I can’t help you further.

The current active theme that I’m using or the folder that holds the different themes I have.

Always the active theme’s folder.
(and be careful when using the word “page” around here – as I pointed out above (if you’ve read it) “Page” has, unfortunately, a special meaning in WP, so everybody gets confused if you keep saying “page” 🙂

Is it possible to have a newsfeed running on a seperate wp Page?

If so, how?

Thread Starter drewiza

(@drewiza)

OK that has a lot of plugins. I don’t mean to bug, but does giving me that link imply that what I’m asking is possible? I’ll continue reading.

Maybe my terminology is making this confusing. But I want to know if it is possible to syndicate feeds from somewhere else on a seperate WP Page.

Giving you a link without a comment (usually) means: you didn’t search, you didn’t read the documentation, you didn’t make any effort, and you expect a ready made solution served on silver plate.

If something is not possible I always say so.
