It would have to added manually to your sidebars’s template file either just before or just after wp_list_pages.
Hi,
You need to edit the file where you want to add the external page link into menu or sidebar then you need to edit the index.php or sidebar.php and add the code before the page list starts.
Thanks,
Shane G.
Could create a WordPress Page then use a redirect plugin such as Page Links To:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/page-links-to/
Is it worth installing a plugin for just 1 external page link? I’ve seen blogs with 30 – 60 plugins and their owners wonder why their site has problems. Then there were the older plugins that broke under 2.8 and I start to wonder if people should be gently dissuaded from immediately thinking “plugin!” as the answer to every problem.
esmi – I wonder that too, but then there’s the other side of the equation, where edits to themes get blown away by upgrades to that theme.
If a plugin can save editing a theme template it seems easier than trying to figure out what template to modify to accomplish the desired goal.
The theme is my own. But I would rather not go hacking away every time I need to add something like this.
I will try the plugin.
Also, I am wanting to do the exact same thing as iphone.wordpress.com for the download link.
Also, is there a way to set the WordPress forum to email you when someone replies to your topic?
